Economics

The international Economy is actually affected by several factors that need to be analyzed: a higher concentration of wealth in some specific countries and continents, a deep aggravation of social inequalities, an increase of private and public debt leverage, the geopolitical changes which are affecting the balance of power and the commercial relationships among countries. In such an uncertain environment, it is a challenge to understand the changes in order to forecast with more accuracy the medium and long term trends. The development and growth of the most disruptive and promising business sectors, the soundness of the financial sector, the balancing of public accounts, or the international trade promotion are important factors to pursue a sustainable and healthy growth. Through our courses and programs, we include not only the appropriate economic policies to achieve those goals but also the interrelationships among them, the main challenges presented, and the best way to face them.

Finance

Since the 2008 financial crisis until today, this sector has suffered a tremendous turnaround from every perspective. The international regulatory framework is now stricter, the banking mergers have reduced the number of financial institutions creating a number of entities with higher systemic risks called “too big to fail”, and new non-banking competitors have appeared. Technology has transformed dramatically the relationship between banks and their clients. In addition, corporate financial management is becoming more indispensable than ever for the board of directors of every organization. Finally, the new macroeconomic environment, the large fluctuation of interest rates, or the growing inflation rates make the International Financial System much more complex and vulnerable. All those challenges require professionals with the appropriate training and a great capacity to adapt to those changes.

Sustainability

It is the new paradigm of our times. Climate Change has modified humankind´s priorities, and because of that, our economies are conditioned by the consequences of our present and future behavior in terms of CO2 emissions. Footprint reduction, the elimination of toxic discharges, the development of the circular economy and the renewable energies or the implementation of the green taxonomy are crucial aspects that must be compatible with our businesses growth, our economies and the development of the financial sector as well. Our courses and programs cover all relevant topics related with sustainability which affects our economic development as a whole.
